The area is spectacular, with huge open landscapes; peppered with white villages, flower filled meadows and orchards bursting with fruit. The villages are incredibly friendly and largely untouched by the passing of time and all in spectacular settings with houses huddled together on the edge of dramatic river cut gorges with the snow-capped peaks of the Sierra Nevada towering above. Each village has its own identity and speciality dishes to try in the evenings or for welcomed tapas break.  

Why not spend Christmas or New Year in this wonderful area. We cannot guarantee snow on the doorstep - although there was in 2006 and 2007 - but the snowline is usually only a 10 minute drive away.

There is a great deal to see and do in the local area as well further afield. There are many outdoor activities to keep the kids amused for hours including horse-riding, riverwalking, swimming in mountain pools and insect hunting as well as all the activities you would normally associate with a beach holiday such as the waterpark at Almunecar.
